PROCESS & ENGAGEMENT

Whether engaged by the client directly or by an architect on behalf of the client, we always aim to provide a smooth and transparent experience. The following stages outline the initial process and steps to determine the direction of each project:

  • Prior to purchasing your dream home or investment property, we will complete a structural assessment and provide preliminary costings for potential future renovation works

  • When submitting drawings for approval, we will provide a preliminary scope and budget to help assist the DA process

  • Prior to both parties spending countless hours on the project scope and final costings, we will provide a high level cost guide that includes a general outline of works along with a price bracket for budgeting purposes

  • Once the budget is established and costings align, all relevant trades are engaged to assist in providing a meticulous scope of works along with a comprehensive cost breakdown. This enables us to provide a transparent document both parties can reference for the entire project works

Crafted is a collaboration between co-founders Sam Faassen and Grant Cornwall.

Born out of a shared passion for residential design, quality craftsmanship and a desire for excellence, Crafted was established. 

With extensive experience working in some of Sydney’s most exclusive suburbs and delivering bespoke projects of the highest standard, Crafted’s goal is to enhance the experience of home building by working hand in hand with clients to execute projects of exceptional quality, that are perfectly tailored to their needs.

Crafted is ready to tackle any scale of project whether that be reimagining and adding to an existing property, or building your dream home from the ground up.

  • Co-founder of Crafted, Sam Faassen has almost 20 years’ experience in the building industry. Over this time he has developed a wealth of knowledge both on site and off, rivalled by few. His approach to building and project management is driven by his determination to provide his clients with the very best outcome without compromise. 

    Sam is a licensed builder with extensive experience in managing all aspects of the build from start to finish. Sam’s expertise has been garnered managing architectural projects in some of Sydney’s most prestigious locations with the most discerning of clients. 

    Sam values a collaborative approach to building and is particularly focused on nurturing the relationship between client, architect, designer, consultants, trades and suppliers. Sam believes that teamwork combined with strong community relationships creates the best outcomes.

    He is passionate about good design and strives to build homes that are not only beautiful but stand the test of time. Embracing a holistic approach to building, Sam is focused on providing bespoke solutions to suit each clients needs along with quality materials to ensure longevity while implementing sustainable practices to support our natural environment.

    At the centre of Sam’s management style is his core values of integrity, honesty and transparency. His rigorous pursuit for excellence is clear from tender to final handover. These values are what has historically resulted in repeat clients and often long lasting friendships.

  • Co-founder of Crafted, Grant Cornwall has over 20 years’ experience in the building industry. With an eagle eye for detail and a passion for quality, bespoke projects, Grant makes his mark building architecturally designed homes while providing clients with an exceptional service. 

    His comprehensive knowledge of residential design allows for Grant’s often inspired and innovative response to construction challenges.

    Grant is a licensed builder with extensive experience in residential building, from managing simple alterations and additions, to intricate architectural timber work as well as managing large scale prestige builds from the ground up. 

    Every Crafted project receives Grant’s meticulous planning & supervision. He ensures all construction and trade works are completed to the highest standard that exemplify a Crafted home. 

    This is all achieved whilst maintaining focus on efficiency and cost management.

    Being a mentor and maintaining a positive work environment for the Crafted team is a major focus for Grant. He believes in fostering the growth and development of all Crafted team members to promote a desire to succeed and achieve excellence for our clients.
